Christian Claytor is one of the firm’s shareholders. Mr. Claytor concentrates his practice on business/corporate law, commercial real estate law, estate planning and probate, and employment law. In addition to his law practice at the firm, Mr. Claytor is also responsible for managing the firm’s day to day business activities.
Business/Corporate Law:
Mr. Claytor advises small to medium sized businesses in all aspects of business/corporate law, including entity selection/formation, acquisitions, sales, reorganizations, financings, corporate governance, as well as material contract preparation, review, and negotiation.
Commercial Real Estate Law:
Mr. Claytor regularly advises both landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions. Mr. Claytor has also counseled clients in numerous commercial real estate sales and acquisitions.
Estate Planning and Probate:
Mr. Claytor regularly counsels individuals on all aspects of estate planning, with particular focus on the preparation of living trusts. Mr. Claytor also has represented numerous estate personal representatives through the California probate process.
Employment Law:
In connection with Mr. Claytor’s business/corporate law practice, Mr. Claytor also counsels businesses on all aspects of employment law, with a particular emphasis on structuring policies and procedures which are aimed at reducing businesses’ potential exposure to employee claims.
General and Educational Background:
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Claytor practiced law at Orrick, Herington & Sutcliffe LLP in both its San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices. While at Orrick, Mr. Claytor was a member of the firm’s corporate and securities group, and focused on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, financings, and general corporate governance.
Mr. Claytor received his Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he was a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society. Mr. Claytor also served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Associate Justice Ming W. Chin of the Supreme Court of California, and was a summer associate for the San Francisco office of Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP.
Mr. Claytor received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley. While at U.C. Berkeley, Mr. Claytor was a member of the Men’s Swimming and Diving Team. Mr. Claytor’s athletic/academic achievements included serving as the Team Captain, being named National Collegiate Athletic Association First Team Academic All-American for three (3) years, being named Pacific Ten Conference First Team Academic All-American for three (3) years, and participating in the 1996 United States Olympic Swimming Trials.
Mr. Claytor is admitted to practice law in the State of California.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Claytor also serves as both a director and officer of Splash Swim School, Inc., a business which offers learn to swim lessons in San Ramon, California.
Mr. Claytor’s non-professional interests include swimming, travel, snow skiing, wake boarding, scuba diving, and cycling. - BACK
